The end

The final devlog!

After adding the final touches and tweaks our game is ready!

Programming

The main things done the past week was fixing bugs and balancing.
We fixed some bugs where the cannon could still be controlled when a player interacting with it died.
The cannon indicator would sometimes still be visible when a player stopped interacting with it.
When spamming the interact button the digging would sometimes bug so we fixed that as well.

We balanced the game by increasing the time between shooting the cannon and it being ready to shoot again.
We also sped up the attack animation so the attacks feel smoother.
After this we tweaked various small things to improve the game experience.

Audio

For audio we only changed the mix a little bit and added more voices/channels to our project. This way the music keeps playing even when the game runs for a while.

Art

Hey everyone! Art team here. We are pleased to announce that our game "Tidal Treasure Clash" has now officially been released! Go download it ASAP and please enjoy! Meanwhile, let's go over the changes made last week.

To start of my part I worked on the itch page and made it a bit nicer with palm trees and stuff. I hope you all like it. I then added some lightning on the indicator for the lightning. I made the lightning sparks with a texture and a distorted mesh. Lastly, I fixed the cannon vfx. Now the cannon ball has a trail and a proper explosion.  With that I also fixed the explosion dust from going in one direction, now it expands outwards like it should be. That's it for me thanks for reading!

Even More Post-Processing

Jay here! Let's get into it. One small problem we had was that with the added outline it was still pretty difficult to see in what direction the player was looking. We added a small triangle in front of the circle to indicate direction and now it's much much clearer.

Finally to close off I added yet another outline shader for interactable objects (You can never have enough outline shaders right?)

The outline will only show up when you're in close proximity to the object so it won't distract too much.

We thank you all for sticking with us during development, whether this is the first devlog you read of us, or the 11th. We hope you will have fun with out little project.

NOW GO PLAY THE GAME!

Thanks for following our progress!
